Minutes from 1/10/11 Meeting
Minutes were approved with two exceptions. Steve Fink wired money to REI for jackets and Donnar Maher was not in attendance, but provided report on Iron Hill Fundraiser.
Steve Fink reported that balance in account as of 3/3/2011 was $3,775. After deposit of check from Iron Hill for $543.00 and payment of expenses for some cafe expenses, the balance as of today is $3,857.
Margaret Manzi-Maul reported no new memberships and asked members to keep her up to date with any email address changes.
Mr. Norris – Band 1) Burlington County Honors HS Band was this past weekend was a success with 12 students participating. 2) The pops oncert is March 17th Theme from “The Producers”. Twenty-three eighth graders will also perform a piece from “Days of Glory”. 3) District purchased new equipment including a Document Projector and various software to support Workshops to be offered to all students during 12th period. Sign-ups for workshops are underway now and will be ongoing. 4) Advanced Placement Music Theory Class will be offered next year due to the new software now available.
Ms. Burke – Orchestra
1) One student was selected and participated in All SJ Orchestra. 2) Six students will audition for All State Band. 3) The Orchestra Pops Concert is scheduled for pril 7th. Concern was raised by Co-Chairs Janet and Joan that there is also the College Visitation evening that could cause concern of parking, room for refreshments, and orchestra students visiting the College Night. Ms. Burke was not inclined o change date of concert, but will work with orchestra students who need permission to attend College Night and we all agreed to come up with game plan for parking and alternate venue for refreshments following concert.
Cafe Night – Friday Evening, April 29th 7 to 9 pm Casablanca Theme
Want to Help – Cafe Night Planning Meeting on March 30th at Lynn Jopka's home. Tickets are on sale – Cost $18 adult and $10 for students and seniors. See – Sue Dowiak
Cafe Night Continued
Volunteers needed for decorating the day before. Contributions for the baskets and silent auction are needed, ads are being taken for the program booklet, the food committee will add healthier variety to dessert offerings. Veggies, dip, nuts and fresh fruit will also be asked as donations in addition to a variety of desserts.
Second Iron Hill Berwery Night – the group agreed to try to do another series of Iron Hill Nights over the Spring Break 4/17 to 4/20.
Senior Plaques – Steve Fink asked group if IMPC committed to continuing the gesture and everyone agreed to continue. Estimated 30-32 trophy plaques will cost about $600/ Steve Paoletti will do te base. Mr. Norris suggested two other vendors who could bid on trophies. The first estimate was $18 per trophy.
New Officer Slate for Next Year – All positions are available. Steve Fink agreed to stay on as Treasurer. Available positions are Membership Chairperson, Corresponding Secretary, Recording Secretary, and Co-Chairperson for Band and Orchestra.
