Instrumental Music Parents Club
May 14, 2012

In Attendance:
Angela Johnson, Danielle Thomas, Shari Hyder, Christopher Norris, Nancy Morrow, Susan Dowiak, Aimee Haydinger, Nancy Matthews, Mike McDevitt, Chanell McDevitt

Danielle Thomas called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.
Minutes
The minutes from the March 2012 meeting were accepted with no changes.
Treasurer's Report:
Steve Fink submitted a report before the meeting:
The May statement balance is $9,040.
I just deposited $47.75, which is the proceeds from the 4/18 Iron Hill Brewery fundraiser.
I just wrote a check for $35.31 for the concert refreshments reimbursement.
So that gives us a balance of 9,052.

We have committed $1,000 for scholarships
We have committed $1,200 for Mr. Norris to spend.
We have committed $1,200 for Ms. Burke to spend.

he Senior Plaques will cost about $400
The sheet cakes for each of the Spring Concerts may cost $150 ($75 each)

After these expenses, the balance will be about $5,102.
We started the year in September, 2011 with $4,663.
So if we wanted to end the year with about the same balance as we came in with, then we could spend another $439.
One suggestion is to offer the teachers another ~$200 each. There may be other suggestions.

Faculty Reports
Chris Norris reported that the students were preparing for the spring concert. The band will also be performing at the Moorestown Memorial Day ceremony and at Moorestown High School's commencement ceremony. Chris thanked Danielle for serving as IMPC chair this year.


Membership
Shari Hyder reported that membership is stable.
Old Business
Senior plaques were discussed. Shelves purchased by IMPC for the music room closet will be installed soon. April's Iron Hill Brewery fundraiser was not well attended and next year another date may need to be considered. The third week in April was very busy for all.


New Business
After reviewing the Treasurer's report it was decided that this year's scholarships would be increased from $250 to $350. Two band students and two orchestra students, to be determined by teachers, will receive the schoalrships. The total amount for this year's scholarships will then be $1400.

Arrangements were made for the spring band and orchestra concerts. Shari Hyder agreed to pick up the band sheet cake and deliver it to the reception following the concert. Shari will deliver the orchestra cake to the front office during school hours. Nancy Matthews and Sue Sowiak agreed to set up the orchestra concert reception.

New Officers for 2012-2013
Co-chair – Nancy Matthews (Nancy could represent band or orchestra with a child in each)
Co-chair – NEEDED (band or orchestra parent)
Membership – Aimie Haydinger
Treasurer – Angela Johnson
Secretary – Mike or Chanell McDevitt
Danielle Thomas is preparing a booklet to help next year's board and membership with tips from this year. Sue Dowiak will help whoever does Cafe Night ticket sales with a spread sheet next year.

The meeting adjourned at 8:10 pm.
