Instrumental Music Parents Club Minutes
​January 10, 2011
​MHS 7:00 P.M.

In Attendance:
Margret Manzi-Maul, Donna Highland, T. J. Heeneke, Matt Hyzer, Steve Fink, Joan Kindsfather, Carolyn Kramer, Janet Khanlian, Christopher Norris, Steve Poaletti, Lynn Japka, Mark Morgan, Donna Maher, Nancy Marrow, Mae Carbo, Audrey Kindsfather, Lynn Meilicl, Otto Meilick, Sue Dowiak,

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Janet Khanlian.

Minutes
The minutes from the November meeting were approved without change.

Treasurer's Report:
Steve Fink reported that the starting balance wi $3,022.
The Club's big expenditures were for the foul weather gear. $3,500 from the IMPC and $1,500 for MoorArts was spent on the purchase. Chris Norris wired the funds directly to REI and the jackets arrived 2 days before the Holiday Parade.

It is estimated that the revenue from the Iron Hill Brewery night will be $500. In addition the club has collected $75 from the donation jar at the concert receptions.

Membership Report
Margaret Manzi-Maul reported that we currently have well above 30 members and have seen an increase in participation from the orchestra parents.
We circulated a sign-up sheet for people who are not receiving emails from the IMPC.

Faculty Reports
He spoke to the club of the importance of keeping the music program strong in the district and that parents are a key component of this effort.
He reported that the band breakfast with help from Lorrie Hullfish was a success as well as the participation in the Holiday Parade.
All South Jersey Band Auditions were to be held on January 17 at 3 P.M.
Western Burlington County Honors band concert will be held March 10. Selections have been made. Many students were not able to participate because of conflicts with the play and sports.

Joan Kinsfather reported on behalf of Ms. Burke that 10 students were selected for All South Jersey Orchestra at auditions held on December 11.
The orchestra is in need of string basses, they currently have more students than instruments. Cost associated is between $1,500 and $3,000. The members discussed the possibility of using the funds from Cafe Night to help with purchases.

Old Business
Mr. Norris is looking into different options for the embroidery of the jackets.

The members discussed the possibility of attending Music in the Parks. It was noted again by several parents how much this trip means to the hard-working band and orchestra students.

Steve Fink will follow up with Mr. Rosa on the possibility of concession sales for track.

Cafe Night
Janet Jhanlian reviewed responsibility for Cafe Night co-chairs which we still need.
Sue Dowiak will be in charge of ticket sales.
Lynn and Otto Meilick will assemble the program book. Mr. Norris will help with the mailing to the Moorestown Business Association.
The club agreed to pursue a Casablanca theme for the evening. Janet will contact Melita for donation of the coffee.
Joan will corrdinate with Greg Newcomer a lighting scheme.
The co-chairs when determined will put together a timeline for the event.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 P.M.
